Build a relaxation nest - think low lights, a beautiful smell, soft furnishings
You might pop on a lamp or fairy lights
You could light a candle, burn incense, or use a diffuser with your favourite essential oil
Set yourself up in a comfortable place - think cushions, blankets, softness, as many props as you can gather to make sure your body feels supported, so that it can settle and relax. You could be seated or reclined. If you’re over 20 weeks pregnant, you could lie down in a supported reclined shape, or on your side with a pillow between your knees
Press play, and enjoy 20 minutes of deep relaxation, connecting with your baby, building confidence that you can relax any time that you need
The more you repeat the above, the easier it will be to find that place of relaxation when you need it
Hypnobirthing is a childbirth preparation method that uses self-hypnosis, deep relaxation, and breathing techniques to help manage labor pain and reduce anxiety. It reframes labor as a natural process, using positive visualisation, breathing exercises to relax the body, making the overall birthing experience calmer and more empowering
